Abstract

  • Kendari City in October 2021 experienced the deepest deflation of 0.70 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.98
  • In October 2021 Kendari City experienced a deflation of 0.70 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.98. Of the 90 CPI cities, 22 cities experienced deflation and 68 cities experienced inflation. The deepest deflation occurred in Kendari at 0.70 percent with a CPI of 107.98 and the lowest occurred in Bengkulu at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 105.89. Meanwhile, the highest inflation occurred in Sampit at 2.06 percent with a CPI of 109.30 and the lowest occurred in Sumenep and Banyuwangi at 0.02 percent each with a CPI of 106.21 and 104.64, respectively.
  •  Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.09 percent; personal care and other services group 0.21 percent; and the transportation group 0.18 percent. Groups experiencing inflation include: recreation, sports, and culture groups of 1.01 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group 0.27 percent; and the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups 0.02 percent. Clothing and footwear group; health group; information, communication, and financial services group; education group; and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group did not change/relatively stable
