August 2021 Combined inflation of 2 CPI cities in Southeast Sulawesi by 0.50 percent

Abstract

The combined inflation of 2 CPI cities in Southeast Sulawesi in August 2021 was recorded at 0.50 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.85.
  • Kendari City experienced inflation of 0.62 percent with a CPI of 108.48 and Baubau City also experienced inflation of 0.12 percent with a CPI of 105.82.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco category by 1.65 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group 0.67 percent; personal care and other services group 0.18 percent; recreation, sports, and culture 0.11 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group 0.07 percent each; and the education group and the clothing and footwear group each 0.02 percent. The groups experiencing deflation include the transportation group of 0.59 percent; health group 0.15 percent; and 0.11 percent of the information, communication and financial services group.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation include scad fish/benggol fish, mackerel/bloated fish/banar fish/gembolo fish/aso-aso fish, spinach, selar fish/tude fish, shallots, anchovies, skipjack/scale fish, squid, tuna/ambu-fish and rambe fish.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation include rice, air transportation, broiler meat, online 4-wheeled vehicle fares, red chilies, papaya, cars, carrots, bananas, and bottled water.
